Summer Camp 2016
What a week's training we've had at this year's Summer Camp. After this week our perspective on training to an elite level has changed beyond recognition. Having started three years ago, in a two court hall, being able to now fill a 12 court hall with such potential talent is an amazing achievement. A big thank you to all the coaches who helped to organise the programme.

Having started three years ago, in a two court hall, being able to now fill a 12 court hall with such potential talent is an amazing achievement. A big thank you to all the coaches who helped to organise the programme.
We also had some very special guests join us for the training - including triple world champion Rachel Choong and the world number one Bobby Griffin. If you don't recognise the names they are two of the 11 members of the English Parabadminton squad who chose to train with us this week. They are on schedule for the Paralympics 2020, where Badminton will feature for the first time. They are looking for different training facilities and loved our Arena, and the the set-up here at the University of Worcester.
They delivered a special session for us one evening to illustrate what it feels like to play when you have short stature, cerebral palsy or use a wheelchair.
I can't reiterate enough how we've learnt from their hard work and dedication what it takes to become an Olympic athlete. We hope it has rubbed off on our own athletes for this coming season.

"Such an inspiring few days training with the GB Para-badminton squad, never seen dedication and hard work like it. Much respect" Grace Taylor, UWPC
